Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Download FamilyFlow from the App Store and sign in with Apple Sign In or create an account with your email. You can then create profiles for family members.
What iOS version do I need?
FamilyFlow requires iOS 16.0 or later.
How do I add family members?
Go to the Family tab and tap the "+" button. You can create profiles for parents, children, and extended family members.
Calendar & Events
How do I sync my calendar?
FamilyFlow automatically syncs with your iOS Calendar. Make sure you've granted calendar permissions in iOS Settings → FamilyFlow → Calendars.
Can I add notes to events?
Yes! Tap any calendar event to view details, then tap "Add Note". You can create rich text notes with checklists.
How do proactive alerts work?
FamilyFlow uses AI to predict when you might be late based on your location, traffic, and calendar events. Enable location services and notifications for this feature.
Location Sharing
Is location sharing safe?
Yes! Your location is only shared with family members you explicitly add. All data is encrypted and never shared with third parties.
How do I enable location sharing?
Go to iOS Settings → FamilyFlow → Location and select "Always" or "While Using App".
Can I turn off location sharing?
Yes, you can disable location services at any time in iOS Settings or within the app's Settings tab.
Privacy & Security
Who can see my data?
Only family members you explicitly add to your family group can see your shared calendar events and location. We never share your data with third parties.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes! All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We use Apple CloudKit for secure cloud sync.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Activities & Profiles
What are activities?
Activities are recurring tasks or events like sports practices, music lessons, or school clubs that you can assign to family members.
Can I add allergies and medical information?
Yes! Each family member profile has fields for allergies, medical conditions, and emergency contacts.
How do I add photos to profiles?
Tap a family member profile and tap "Add Photo". You can choose from your photo library or take a new photo.
Troubleshooting
The app isn't syncing. What should I do?
Check your internet connection and ensure you're signed in to iCloud. Go to Settings → iCloud and verify CloudKit is enabled.
I'm not receiving notifications.
Check iOS Settings → Notifications → FamilyFlow and ensure notifications are enabled. Also verify location services are enabled for proactive alerts.
Calendar events aren't showing up.
Go to iOS Settings → FamilyFlow → Calendars and grant permission. Then restart the app.
The app crashes or freezes.
Try force-closing the app and reopening it. If the problem persists, delete and reinstall the app (your data is safely backed up in CloudKit).
